Q:Is this product waterproof

by|Jul 20, 2022

Answer This Question

A: The product is natural wood with no finish. If you apply a finish it may have some water repelling qualities but I would not say water proof like some of the synthetic material currently on the market listed as waterproof

by|Jul 21, 2022

A: No. All true hardwood floors are susceptible to moisture damage. Any spills, leaks, pet “accidents” and casual water should be wiped dry as they occurs to reduce the likelihood of damage.

Q:The "natural" stain color seems to be out of stock, could you tell me if the "tan" color would be lighter or darker than the natural? and are these two colors fairly similar in terms of look? I have the natural color elsewhere in the house. Thanks!

A: Natural does not contain any stain, it is just a clear top finish, thus it is the lightest representation of any hardwood. Customer Care

        Answer This Question

A: Any good underlayment for laminate floor will work provided it has a vapor barrier built in. Make sure your concrete is thoroughly cured, and you may want to seal it on top also. Regards,JWM

        by|Jan 31, 2022

A: Home Depot has several brands and options at varying price points depending on sound ratings, insulating factors, etc but any underlay pad designed for floating hardwood/laminate installation would be suitable. Over concrete, we would also recommend installation of 6mil polyethylene sheeting as a vapor barrier. New slabs must be at least 30 days old before moisture testing is conducted.

A: It is recommended to leave 3/8" expansion space for spans up to 24'. Above 24' you should either install a T-molding across thewidth of the room, archway or use an additional 1/4” expansion for each additional 12 linear feet.

                    Answer This Question

A: These floors may contain lengths between 12" and 46 1/4". They are packaged at random, so there is no set percentage of lengths. You may see cartons with predominantly full length boards or a mix of lengths, so it is recommended to work out of several cartons at a time to incorporate these varied lengths as you encounter them.

A: If the linoleum is secure and level, yes you can install this flooring over it with an underlayment. Yes, this flooring is ok to put on concrete slab (below grade) again with an underlayment.

A: Answer 2 first is yes. That is how i did it. However i put down an underlayment first. Helped with insulating cement slab and helps with noise. As 4 a basem*nt if it is dry you would b ok with an underlayment for moisture wicking and warmth. But engineered flooring cant get wet the grain will raise.

A: This floor may be laid over a single layer of existing non-cushioned linoleum, insuring that the linoleum is well bonded and in good repair. It is also approved for below grade (basem*nt) installations.

A: Yes, an underlayment is needed. I think its required by the factory, its easy to install and not very expensive. Check my answer by reading the factory recommended installation. The flooring is free floating and not nailed down. I used no glue or nails. Its nice looking decent flooring for the money. It is easily scratched but higher end floor costs a lot more. Good luck!

A: Yes you do an underlayment over existing flooring. I would not nail this flooring since it is designed to be a floating floor. I use glue adhesive on every row with great results.

A: I like using inderlayment it helps suppress noise when u walk on the wood. In my casr i had a cement slab with linoleum on it so underlayment helped with warmth also. As4 gluing in one room i glued both first few rows and last few rows. If u glued it all if a board got damaged u would have a real job 2 remove it and replace it. Wood likes 2 expand and contract so i wouldn't nail.
