I mean you could tip someone/something over. My cat tips over cups from the table. She just tipped a cup over. I should stop her from tipping things over.

You can tip, as in give money.
You can also push something to the ground lightly. Like, for example, my cat will push a cup off the table. It’s nothing hard or full of force. It’s just lightly pushing so it falls to the floor.

Let's toss a coin.
She tosses the salad quickly.
Alex tossed his scrap papers into the trash can.
We started tossing bread to the flock of birds in the park.
Toss can mean different things depending on the way it is used in a sentence. The context of the word 'toss' in the sentences I gave is to lightly throw/fling something.
