Thanks for stopping by to take a look at our very cool 1962 INVADER GT! Get your Retro on with this throwback to the 1970's. Styled. produced and sold in the early 70's. the INVADER GT turned your Volkswagen from mild to WILD !! In the 60's and 70's customizing your ride was all the rage and the VW chassis provided a great platform from which to create your ideal rod. Easy to repair. inexpensive parts and loads of fun were top of the want list for drivers. The history on this car is related as having been built and driven for just 6 miles before being stored away in the garage for over 35 years. We revived her with fresh fluids. rebuilt brakes and a new 6 volt battery. She sprang to life on the first crank. Always a Southern California car. this VW has the old style clear California “Pink Slip”. correct mesh wheels and period correct bias ply tires Rarity Thousands were sold yet very few remain outside of private collections. This Invader GT sits atop a solid 1962 pan. itself hard to find today. Exterior Red gelcoat exterior shines up nicely but does have nicks and scratches. See photos and video. Floors Floors are California solid. Wheels. Tires OEM Spec alloy wheels with period correct bias ply tires. The tires mounted are not drive quality. They are correct for this time period and are for display only. A second set of mesh wheels will accompany the car. The buyer may wish to use these to mount street tires for driving/touring. Engine The 1200cc engine runs awesome. This super lightweight scoots right out.
Transmission
4 speed Manual transmission. The transmission is smooth and responsive. No noises or unusual behavior.
Braking
Brakes serviced. New master cylinder. all hoses and all wheel cylinders replaced. Receipts with warranties.
Service
Fresh service. turnkey and ready to go.
Battery
Fresh Interstate 6 volt battery with warranty.
Trim
The chrome trim is in good to excellent shape. See pics and video.
Glass
The glass is in good to excellent condition. Plexi gullwing doors are unmarred.

The odometer shows 8 miles. This mileage is commensurate with the oral history on this car but no written records exist.

The California “pink slip” title is clear and all documentation is included. No smog is required. Very low cost Antique registration and insurance for most US States. A build book is included with build pictures. detailed information. receipts and specs.
Comparables
There are very few comparable VW Invader GTs offered. well. period. Much less running and complete. Maybe you can find a car that needs work. Find one in original condition that has not been abused and you have a very few cars indeed. Given the extreme scarcity of available cars. this INVADER GT represents an outstanding value that can be enjoyed immediately as well as being an appreciating investment in automotive art.
